Created in Lyon in 1987 by Paul Bocuse, the Bocuse d’Or will celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2027. Launched as part of the Salon des Métiers de Bouche, which would later become Sirha Lyon, the competition has established itself over the past four decades as a global benchmark in gastronomy.

Conceived as an international stage for culinary cultures from around the world, the competition showcases exceptional talent and brings chefs’ expertise to a global audience.

Social Commitment Award

Beyond technical performance, the Bocuse d’Or also recognises participants’ social and environmental commitment.

This award recognises initiatives to reduce food waste and promote more sustainable culinary practices.

Unused ingredients from the competition are donated to organisations such as the Food Bank and Restos du Cœur.
