Sylvie Chokron

CNRS: centre national de la recherche scientifique

Neuropsychologue et directrice de recherche

Sylvie Chokron is a neuropsychologist and a research director at the CNRS. As a specialist in how the brain functions in everyday life, she studies the way in which we perceive, concentrate and act, particularly under the influence of smartphones: mechanisms that come into play even whilst we are eating, when our attention wanders and our senses take a back seat. At the Rothschild Ophthalmological Foundation in Paris, she founded an institute that treats babies, children and adults, diagnosing and managing their cognitive and vision disorders. Deeply committed to promoting scientific literacy, she presents programmes on the brain on television and radio, and has published several books for the general public. She is also a member of the ‘AI and Vulnerabilities’ committee set up by the Office of the President of the Republic.
