CHAMPAGNE POL COCHET

From 1875 onwards, Pol Cochet began developing his own blends of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. His daughter Louise and his son-in-law Henri Petitjean continued the business. Their son, Pierre Petitjean, a passionate oenologist, founded the Institut Œnologique de Champagne, a consultancy firm for Champagne producers. His son, Michel Petitjean, went on to become its director and also took over Champagne production in 1960, before handing it over in 1991 to Éric Petitjean, who succeeded his father by spending 15 years at the helm of the IOC, then reviving the family’s Champagne production in 2011.
